The stag party is supposed to be the last big group get together for the lucky guy who is getting married. So it needs to be good, it needs to be fun, and it needs to be memorable. We think there are some essential elements to making sure you and your friends have a great stag party with plenty of stories to tell.

Location, location, location

Ever heard the saying "What goes on tour, stays on tour"? There's a reason a lot of men opt to have their stag party away from their home town. It's an adventure, it's away from the wives and girlfriends and it can allow you that extra bit of freedom. Some of the big cities around the world are the best places to go for stag weekends, and they're used to hosting group activities. Some of the most popular places includ Las Vegas, Amsterdam and Dublin for their pary atmosphere. Make sure you choose a suitable location for your stag weekend.

Humiliation

The tradition at a stag party is that the groom is humiliated in some way or other, as punishment for leaving his friendship group to settle down. Make sure you've got something planned to humiliate your friend, or if you are the groom - be prepared! There are some great embarrassing fancy dress costumes available on the web - think about favourite TV shows perhaps? There are also some gimmicky services like being handcuffed to a midget for the day which can be hilariously entertaining for the group.

Hydration

Unless you're all tee-totallers, then there's going to be some thirsty men on your stag night. Make sure you've planned in a stop at the nearest bar for a well deserved drink or too to encourage the party atmosphere and good times - and who knows, some female company for the single guys. It's not uncommon for a stag party to concoct a nasty looking pint of tabasco, spirits and various other evil liquids for the groom to drink, and you can certainly expect to be downing a shot of Tequilla or two!
