How to Build Up Confidence in Yourself

Confidence is in fact not that difficult to build because it is a belief and a faith in yourself and your abilities. However, having said that, how to build up confidence can be a very rocky ride. You will have set backs and there will be times that you once again feel worthless. However you can learn that this experience does not have to crush you with a little effort you can make small changes that increase your sense of worth.

Start by finding activities that you love and set aside a time to improve your skills in this area. No matter how busy and stressed your life is you have to make twenty minutes a day for yourself. To start with that activity does not have to change the world, or be costly. Make a cake for a neighbour, do something nice and make someone else's day or just go for a walk and let your thoughts drift. That should make you feel good about yourself.

Simply knowing that you can make others happy is enough to make you glow and bask in the achievement. It is part of a parent's job to make their children feel special, but many parents fail miserably in that regard. It is much easier to criticise than it is to praise. Psychological research had identified the fact that for every criticism we remember we forget ten items of praise. Focus on your worth and act as though you are worthy.

Your mind and body are not two independent entities they cannot function without each other. Your brain will not work if it is a glass jar, you are connected to it. It makes sense of all your senses everything you see and hear and feel your brain sorts out and codes and categorizes. Focus on praise and focus on looking open and relaxed. Walk tall, breathe in deeper hold your breath and breathe out slowly. That simple exercise makes you feel better because it both relaxes and invigorates you. It relaxes you because it releases tension in the muscles and it invigorates you because a deep breath releases toxins in the body.

This reduction of tension makes you feel less stressed and therefore you are more fluid you walk taller and appear to others to be more confident and other people will start to treat you accordingly. You become in effect what you appear to be. Another simple trick is to take a short stroll take time to smell the roses. Let your thoughts drift free. Exercise releases endorphins into our body and it affects our hormones and it makes us naturally feel better.

Remember that you emotions start to reflect your physical self and your physical self reflects your emotions. Trick your body and your brain will follow and start to believe in yourself. Remember of course that is someone does put you down it is their problem not yours. If they do not like your personality they can choose others and leave you free to interact with people who do love and respect you and that will build up your confidence. You may think that you have always been lacking in self confidence but that cannot be true. If that had been the case you would never have left the womb, you had stayed where you were in a safe and secure place. Remember Rome was not built in a day, but make sure every day you do at least one thing that increases your sense of worth.
