Love and verbal or physical abuse are incompatible. Someone who says they love you and continues to abuse you only thinks they need you. The truth is they will squeeze the life out of the relationship. The outcome is predictable. The person who intimidates with threats in one breath and attempts to persuade with promises of undying love the next is emotionally and mentally unstable. The sick have forgotten how to be well. Courage is called for. Refuse to become a part of the illness. Recognize its red flags. Distance yourself from such a person and seek help for yourself.
RedHot LoveNote. . . When you first met your lover, the hormones were dancing! There was a fire below. Then. . . what happened? Over time, they say, the romance disappears. It doesn't have to be that way. It takes work; an awareness that to have the romance continue, you both must have an intention for it to be that way and do whatever it takes for romance to continue to be present. Being attentive to your lover's needs is a more mature level of love. It's not as if the hormones are no longer dancing. . . they are now dancing to the same music!
LoveNote. . . Always do your best to avoid, at all costs, the necessity of experiencing the negative results of anger. The healthy release of anger must be presented in a way that empowers the relationship; anger expressed without blame, without pointing fingers. To avoid unnecessary pain, it is important to learn that anger must be expressed with an attitude of acknowledgment; acknowledgment for the responsibility you have for your equal share of the upset.
