You are about to go on your first date with her tonight, and you know you need to make a good impression.

You want to stand out from the crowd and make it a night she will remember, but what can you do that's fun and out of the ordinary?

Here's a few ideas.

Traveling meal

The norm is take her to a restaurant and have a couple of drinks and a nice meal. The problem is that any lapse in the conversation becomes uncomfortable. You don't know each other well enough to be comfortable just sitting and saying nothing.

Instead take her to one place for a cocktail, then another for appetizers. Move to a different location for the main meal and then have dessert at another place.

It can be a lot of fun, and helps prevent the awkward silences.

Concert

Sure you wouldn't be able to dazzle her with your wonderful conversation skill, but she will have a great time and you are part of it. She will associate you with having fun which is what you want to accomplish.

Comedy Club

Laughter always sets the stage for more fun, plus you will get the chance to see if she has the same sense of humor as you do. If she doesn't then you know not to waste your time with a second date.

Pool hall or bowling alley

A little friendly competition will keep you both occupied and is fun, which is what a first date is supposed to be.

Horse races.

Neither one of you needs to know anything about horses or racing. Just pick a horse you like and see if it wins.

It would be a good idea to do a little research on what the different types of bets are before going so that you have at least a little idea of what's going on.

Now you have a few different night date ideas that are far better than the traditional dinner and a movie.

Use your imagination and I'm sure you can come up with some other fun date ideas of your own.
