Most "Popping" Is A Bust According To Recent Poll

In a recent poll women ranked the day her boyfriend proposed as the most looked forward to event of her life, even before her wedding day. Sadly, in the same survey 85% of married or engaged women say the proposal they received was less romantic than they had anticipated.

There is a new book out that will hopefully change those statistics. Well known romance expert, Michael Webb, has created The RoMANtic's Guide to Popping the Question, a virtual encyclopedia for marriage proposals.

The book includes valuable do's and don'ts including how to deal with in-laws, the best time of day to propose and places one should NEVER pop the question. There is a special section on filming the proposal for those who wish to immortalize the special occasion. Also included is a collection of over 100 of the most romantic and creative real life proposals. These proposals were the "best of the best" from nearly 10,000 stories Webb received in a nationwide contest.

Female Marriage Proposals On The Rise

A couple of decades ago it was nearly unheard of for a woman to ask a man to marry her. Today, nearly 10 percent of all marriage proposals are given by women.

Michael Webb is one of the nation's top authorities on romance and relationships and his new book reflects that trend. The Romantic's Guide to Popping the Question contains many real life stories of women who turned the table and asked for her beau's hand in marriage.

Webb recently ran a contest searching for the world's most romantic and creative marriage proposal stories and 9 percent of the 7300 entries were initiated by women.

Over 100 stories of proposals by both sexes are included as well as some very valuable tips on how to make an ordinary proposal extraordinary.
